Guide

Getting started

  1. Open the sign-up page, enter your email address, choose your language, tick the box to agree to the privacy notice and send the form.
  2. Open the mail from noreply@pilatesdaybook.com. Its link works once and for 24 hours. If it does not come, look in your spam folder, and see the FAQ.
  3. On the page the link opens, choose a password of 10 to 72 bytes (for plain letters and digits, 10 to 72 characters). It must not be your email address.
  4. Open the Daybook. Without a login it takes you to the login page: enter your email address and the password you chose, or ask for a sign-in link by mail.

You stay logged in on that device until 30 days after you last used the Daybook. Log out under Settings. See the FAQ.

Installing the app

The Daybook installs as an app, which opens in its own window without the address bar.

On a phone, the install page shows the steps for your device. Each step, and what to do if one fails, is in the pages for iPhone and iPad and Android.

If you forget your password

Open the reset page and enter your email address. If the address has an account, a mail arrives with a link that works once and for 1 hour. Choose a new password there.

The tabs

The Daybook has four tabs.

The exercise names stay in English in both languages. Their descriptions are translated.

Generate a class from a recipe

In a class's editor, open the recipe (or a recipe in the Recipes tab) and set:

Then choose Generate. "Another one" makes a different class from the same recipe. To start from a saved recipe, choose New class in Classes and pick the recipe, or choose New class in the recipe. Save a class's recipe with "Save as recipe…". A class remembers the recipe it came from: its recipe line starts "From" and the recipe's name, with "· changed" once you change the recipe's fields in the class.

The totals show the length of the class against your target, and the class is saved on its own as you change it.

Change the sequence

Each row of the sequence is an exercise with its repetitions or seconds. Drag a row to move it, open its details to move it up or down, duplicate it, swap it for a similar exercise or remove it, and add an exercise with "+ Add exercise", which opens the exercise browser: the "+" next to an exercise, or "Add to class" on its page, adds it to the end of the class. "About this exercise" in a row's details opens the exercise's page there.

"Smooth order" under "More" orders the class by body position, so that it changes position in small steps.

The player

Choose "Start class" in the class editor, or in a class's preview in Classes, to open the player. It counts down each exercise and each rest, shows the cues and the breath, and beeps when an exercise starts. You can pause, go back, skip, stop, and switch the sound off. The Voice button reads the class aloud with your device's own voice. Both buttons change only the class in progress: whether Sound and Voice start on is set under "Sound and voice in class" in Settings. On a computer, Space pauses, the arrow keys go back and forth and Esc stops.

Print

Under "More" in a class's editor, "Print" prints the class as a table.
